BICI-UNESCO(ROSTE) Participation Grants for Advanced Education in Computer Science


BICI UNESCO OFFICE IN VENICE - REGIONAL BUREAU FOR SCIENCE IN EUROPE (ROSTE)


Bertinoro International Center for Informatics (BICI) and the UNESCO Office in Venice-Regional Bureau for Science in Europe(ROSTE) have agreed to cooperate since 2004 in order to increase the participation of young scientists and PhD students from European countries in BICI scientific-training activities in the field of informatics and applied mathematics. A number of BICI-UNESCO(ROSTE) short-term grants for the participation in BICI scientific-educational meetings will be offered.

Eligibility: PhD students and young researchers from European countries (Israel and other Mediterrenean countries included) of maximum 35 years of age. Please note: these grants are intended for students and young researchers with real financial difficulties. Applicants should first verify that no local funding (eg. research grants) is available to them before applying.

Two kinds of grants are offered:

Under special circumstances, participants from countries with hard economic conditions may receive partial support for travel costs.

Award decisions will be made jointly by BICI and UNESCO(ROSTE). Applicants will be notified well in advance of the events. Grant recipients will receive a BICI-UNESCO(ROSTE) certificate of participation.
